Home Purchase
The Homeownership Center, in cooperation with various lending partners, has developed many specialized mortgage products for the purchase and rehabilitation of homes throughout Oneida, Herkimer and Madison Counties.
Qualified first-time home buyers can also apply for a second mortgage from The HomeOwnership Center to assist with the down payment and closing costs.
Home Improvement
Home improvement loans are available up to $25,000. The most popular home improvement loan is the Home Performance and Energy Smart Loan program with Energy Star® offered in conjunction with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA.) Other home improvement loans are available for emergency repairs when you receive services from The HomeOwnership Center. We obtain estimates, assist in the selection of a contractor and oversee the work until it is complete to both the homeowners’, and The HOC’s satisfaction. Download application
Loan Servicing
All loans issued by The HomeOwnership Center are serviced internally by our own trained and competent staff for the life of the loan. We issue statements, process payments and conduct collection activities, providing you with efficient and courteous service. The HomeOwnership Center does not sell our loans to any secondary market.
Herkimer County
The HomeOwnership Center in conjunction with Herkimer County offers a Housing rehabilitation program for seniors (SAFE).
